Abstract

|
The Technicon H-1 system, hematology autoanalyzer, performs a complete blood cell
count including red blood cell morphometric studies and a white blood cell differential
count. An evaluation of a H-1 was undertaken to assess performance characteristics and
to determine accuracy and precision in analyzing both normal and clinical specimens.
precision and linearity were acceptable over the entire clinical range. Cytograms and
associated parameters have been found to be abnormal in various hematologic conditions
and diseases and may therefore be used as aids in diagnosis and in monitoring
treatment. In addition, novel parameters in H-1 system provide useful informations to
the laboratory for data interpretation and quality assurance.
